I often catch myself talking to my mother about how I always follow these rules that I've set over time about boots: "my legs are too short. I'm too short. Boots make me look short. So, I can't wear boots." Not true! If I want to rock boots, I'm going to rock boots. No more rules.
All four of the boots above (on these tall and slender folk) are different and expressive in their own ways. While boots are always a popular trend, it takes a certain someone to pick out a specific pair that represents their style and personality uniquely. The third pair above are totally Addams Family, but this chick not only spent HER MONEY on these clonky kicks, she woke up and put them on her little (probably cute) feet in front of the world that day.
The fourth pair are obviously a take on combat boots. This design, as most semi-intellectuals know, were produced to provide stability and ankle support for soldiers in combat. Clearly this model-esque gazelle with legs as long as I am (5"4, thank you very much) could use a little ankle support. But the mix of these heavy, masculine boots with the feminine, floral top really come off so simple and edgy. After analyzing her slicked back hair, tucked in top, and laced up boots, you realize it took some time and consideration to put this outfit on. But by taking her own inspiration and creative outlook, she's chosen a combination of clothes and accessories that perfectly come together and highlight her unique style in an effortless way.
The choices these people make and the thought behind them are what inspire me to better my own choices in expressing myself in the morning.
